What do I need to do to make a TMNT pcb work in a dedicated Simpsons cabinet? Don't want to do anything fancy just make the TMNT board work in the cabinet.

TMNT is mono, the speaker wiring will come off the JAMMA harness. a dedicated TMNT cabinet would have a single speaker like The Main Event and Crime Fighters of the era (Crime Fighters came in TMNT style 4 player cabinet and as a Main Event conversion because that game was terrible)

Simpsons is stereo, it will have a separate 4 pin plug to connect the speakers to the game board. the speakers will not connect via the JAMMA harness without modification (which may be as simple as crimping 2 JAMMA pins to wires to reach the speakers and plugged into the edge connector for Speaker + and -, and connected in parallel, not daisy chained from one speaker to another)

your alternative is replacing the JAMMA harness with a new one entirely but that will require a lot of work. but otherwise I think the player 3/4 harnesses should be the same and thus drop into TMNT.

The Simpsons Stereo Sound output 4 pin connector is right next to the Jamma connector. A tidy and reversable conversion would be to get a matching 4 pin connector and wire the speakers in parallel from that connector to the Jamma connector Pins (L Spk - and 10 Spk +). Then you could swap back to The Simpsons and plug the sound connector back to it's original position.

Some other minor differences:
Simpsons also has a test switch wired to Jamma pin 15
TMNT has a service switch on Jamma Pin R (free credit) that is not used on The Simpsons.
Attack and Jump switches are reversed between the two games.

So, if you plug your TMNT into The Simpsons Jamma cabinet harness without doing anything it will work, most likely with no sound (until you rewire the speakers or add the connector I mentioned above), and the jump and attack buttons will be reversed.

oh yes forgot about the test switch setup lol it was kind of caca doing it at the dipswitches

Pretty straightforward swap, both are Konami boards, so the JAMMA pinout is basically the same. You might need to flip the video sync polarity or adjust the sound wiring, but nothing major. Just plug it in, check voltages first, and you should be good to go! 🕹️

Clearly you did not read the other posts and do not know these games.

As well as the Jamma connector these games have player 3 and player 4 connectors and The Simpsons has a stereo sound out connector. We have already mentioned the differences. If you are going to contribute, please add to the posts do not take the OP's question backwards with generic uncertainty.

on one hand you say it's JAMMA standard. by definition, that's negative composite sync. then you say you might need to flip the video sync polarity.

okay? that's my sticking point on your reply. I've posted thousands of things on KLOV spanning almost 17 years to try and curb misinformation like this. Randy Fromm posted a lot of his videos to YouTube that you can watch for free. I suggest going there.

and like Azure said, we already addressed everything. this is KLOV, not Facebook.
