I am normally not one for conversions, but for some dumb reason popeye has been eluding me. Recently I was able to acquire a DK Jr table that was missing the monitor and game board, so I figured why not make it my Popeye since I already have a DK Jr.

First problem was adressing the missing parts. It was missing the action button mounting hardware and the pcb mounts. Being that I just got back into 3d design and 3d printing, I figured it was a good idea to just make the parts I needed.

With all that out of the way, I started shifting focus the the control panels. On the player one panel, it looks like someone kicked in the joystick. For now I swapped the player 1 and 2 panels since it will be pressed up against another table anyway. I also replaced the dk jr instruction cards with popeye ones I got from Mike's Arcade (of which is the best). Played my first game of popeye on this!

The next step for me now is to write my own freeplay rom for this and finish the body work on the machine. The control panels have some rust problems so that will need to be addressed. The inside also has some rust problems That I wanna resolve. But that is a bit down the road.
