***SOLD!***
Thanks for all the intereste!

I picked it up for free hoping to mame it. After researching it, it turns out it's rare. So I can't mame it in good conscience.

I'm also not really into Joust, nor do I feel like spending the time to restore it. With that said, I'm hoping to sell it to fund my MAME cabinet I will eventually build.
I'd like to get $150 out of it.

As far as I can tell, the monitor and power supply work, and seem to be original. Monitor bezel has no damage. The converted PCB that was put in(baseball championship 2), does have an error though. It's in great overall shape. I removed all the electronics out and gave it a massive cleaning.
All it needs is the Joust PCBs, CPOs, and correct joysticks/buttons and it's good to go.
I'm far from an expert though, so I can't gaurantee any of this info 100%

Can you tell if the monitor has any screen burn? Also, How much would you say it weights, any idea?

I dont see any screen burn, but it's hard for me to tell.
No clue on the weight. Heavy.

Holy shit, deal of the month.

I paid $7 for it. The price would fund my mame project pretty easily, and still be a good deal for someone in the community.

Gmontag backed out. I sent a PM offering the asking price or a trade for a Madden Football cabinet suitable for MAME.

Well, that looks a lot nicer than my cabinet. The coin door and control panel plastics have been reproduced. If you can source those, there's nothing else to keep this from being restored, awesome project for someone.

C/T Joysticks

Except the Joysticks, those will be close to impossible to find. The Williams Cocktail Joysticks are different than the upright sticks and no parts for these joysticks are reproduced to my knowledge. I restored one of these before and had to jury rig the hell out of them with hacksaw blades to make the sticks tight but at least I had the original sticks to work with. Great project for someone though! I liked the Cocktail version WAY better than my upright but let mine go because of space issues.

Your correct.. I've restored a joust cocktail in the past, made the same joystick bases but used large pinball flipper leaves.. Worked quite well.

Joysticks are a total pain in the ass to find.. Lucky I held onto a few and the buyer is in luck :)

Excellent!

I'll be posting a restore thread in the not too distant future. I've already got the CPO and coin door plastics on route. And the joystick shafts will be taken care of as well it seems.

It looks like it's pretty much useless. Seems to have been completely rewired without even using molex connectors on the control panels. The Baseball game that's in it isn't even JAMMA, so it'll most likely need to be completely ripped out and redone.

It's still in the truck until I get a chance to take it out Sunday.

Need help getting it out before then?

Thanks but there's no room for it until I get the Madden cabinet out of the house and that'll happen Saturday or Sunday.
I'm already chomping on the bit to start messing with it. I already tried to remove one of the control panels while it's still in the truck but found out there's no connector I can unplug. I did pull back the green CPO a little and found the Joust one is still there. Of course it's got several extra holes.
