Converted Food Fight Cab - $99

To go and find ALL the arts and parts for a Food Fight restore would probably cost you 5 times what you could just buy one for. That is, IF you can find one.

However, whoever buys this might luck out and simply have to remove whatever gay-ass paint appears to be slapped over the cab. My buddy had one that was painted red. He removed it and found perfect arts underneath.

yes there was art underneath but there were so many layers of paint that chunks of it came off during removal. It was a disaster.

I think I sold the cab for $50. It was converted to a one slot neo geo and had more rat crap in it than any cab I have ever seen. This was a few years ago and the guy who bought it is still trying to sell it.

That's too bad.

I agree that Food Fight is easier / cheaper to buy whole & working than piece together. Frankly, you're getting a good deal compared to spending on parts alone - sort of like Tempest.

It's a shame the art doesn't look salvageable on that cabinet. FF was my favorite console game (7800) from the time I got it until I bought a Playstation many years later. When I entered the hobby a couple of years ago I was *thrilled* to find out FF was an upright as well.

I had the boards for a FF a couple of years ago.

I have no idea where they're at in the garage, but I know they're stored properly and not going anywhere anytime soon ;). Thanks again for the fair shake on that deal oh so long ago...

I'd bet that cab is plenty saveable. There's a trick to stripping paint off atari cabs, just use full strength formby's stripper. Dont' diddle around with weaker stuff or trying to rub it off, just hit it with the formbys and a credit card type scraper. Hard chemical quickly and you'll be fine if someone were to attempt it. My food fight that's in my collection was painted grey top to bottom and it's probably the prettiest cabinet i've ever seen today.

I'm coming to Tampa in a couple of weeks and don't mind picking it up if you want to put a bid on it.

I can get it almost to your doorstep - not trying to pressure you or anything, just sayin' .

Well, I will be in Tampa in a couple of weeks picking up a cab.

And I will be getting another cab or two from the guy selling the FF this weekend or next week.

So it should be almost painless to make it work out since I'm already going to be in both places.

Just send me a PM and we'll work out the details.
