There are quite a few Allied Leisure games that project images on a screen. The original projector bulbs in the F114 are DFF's and 150W each, or 750 Watts when all 5 planes are lit. The new LED's are about 4 watts, and just as bright or brighter than the original. (50W equivalent) This machine is still in operation at Spring Lake Arcade in Burrillville, RI. Needless to say, we have used quite a few of the DFF projector bulbs over the years. The conversion was done in a manner that would allow reversing the installation if desired. The connectors need to be protected with shrink tubing when installed. The target site will also be converted, but this is a 12V circuit and I'm waiting on a socket.

very nice :)
the orientation and reflector of the LED also make it more direct to the pinhole, much more efficient.

The connectors are easy to protect. Buy some tygon tubing a little bit bigger, put it over one wire, when you connect them, pull it over the connection and if you want to make sure it doesn't move, use a small tywrap in the middle to grip the connection.

This is used in aviation and works great. We use knife splices though - more positive, but then again, we do pull up to 6 g's in some maneuvers, so required over simple spade connections.
