I can pick up a 2nd popeye for cheap, how easy is it to convert to Donkey kong 3? I know i have to change the monitor orientation, but what about wiring? Seeing if it's worth doing. My popeye is in a DKjr cabinet, so i may keep the 2nd popeye and convert the JR cabinet.

excellent! Now to hunt down the DK3 parts!

jus rotate the monitor and you set

The wiring is not identical and usable as is. DK3 was a kit. If you look at the conversion info you will see they shipped a couple connectors that replaced two existing connectors on the popeye harness to make it work.
If you search under my name you'll find athread where I explain how to do this.

Also Popeye used a different power supply.

dk3 came as a kit.. was it only meant for dk, and dkjr? I will have to compare the power supplies, i have DK, DKjr, and popeye, needed a DK3 to complete the lineup.

If you dl the DK3 kit manual it clearly shows how to install it specifically into a Popeye cab.

dk3 wont work in dk or jr unless you convert to an edge connector. I am sorry I thought popeyes edge connector was the same.

I hate to sound argumentative - but that's not exactly true either.
I have a DK3 using DK/DKJR style power supply with a Popeye harness not using an edge connector. ;)

what?? that didnt make sense to me, You can not straight plug in a dk3 board to a JR or DK cab. Thats all I said in my post.

EDIT: ahh I see what ya mean, didnt get it until I read it again.
