I've done a fair amount of searching and haven't been able to find a source for those convergence strips/tabs for correcting convergence around the corners/edges of monitors?

My Wells K7191 looks fantastic right now after recapping/rejuving. The only issue is in the lower right corner of the screen, there's (what I'm guessing) is a slight convergence issue. It's only noticeable when there is visible text. For example, while I have T-MEK running, the "free play" should just be white text, but instead is white with some red shifting to the lower right (kind of like a drop shadow.) It's only in this small area of the monitor, so I'm thinking of trying to cure it with some convergence strips, but I can't seem to find a source.

I looked on ArcadeCup, but the strips are out of stock. There are other tabs/wedges, but I'm not sure if those will accomplish the same task as the strips.

25" Sony TVs have about 6 to 8 of them in each. If you see large Sony TVs grab the strips, I got about 50 strips the other day, as someone had already stolen the Yokes during a verge cleanup/collection, making it easy for me to get the strips

Hm. What does he mean by "isolation tape"? Is that the same as electrical tape? Also, what is he using for the metal/magnetic pieces? The razor blade?

Yes and Yes. I had luck with homemade ones, but use the stiffest paper you can. I agree with the poaching angle; during my tube swap for my G07, I was able to pull them off the old tube and use them for the donor tube. They seem to be made of a paper covered strip of metal, which seems way more durable.

I made some using the plastic/styrene spine of those clear book report covers you used in school, electrical tape, and the metal pieces from drywall edging tape. I just used cap I had in my work area. I bought a blade, like in the tutorial above, but found that when I broke the pieces off, they were almost too big.

Sweet. Using that method of building the strips from scratch using hard paper (in my case, a "for sale" sign), electrical tape and pieces of a utility blade, I was able to construct several strips that worked surprisingly well. I had my buddy hold a mirror up so I could see the grid well enough and we were able to get the remaining convergence in the corners to near perfection. The only little thing is there's just a LITTLE red that's offset horizontally from the crosshatch at the very bottom (one, maybe two horizontal red lines are just slightly lower than the other colors.) But honestly I'm very pleased -- especially for only spending $5 and a good hour of time!

Unfortunately linked tutorial is a dead link now. Can someone post a tutorial on how to make these here?

Take a small strip if sturdy paper/plastic, break off a metal strip from the end of a utility blade and attach that with some electrical tape to one end of the strip covering the metal, use double sided tape on the other end of the strip to make the strip stick to the back of the tube .

That's all it was .
