Restoration folks, any advice or tricks for how to clean this up? I wasn't sure if there was a better way to this without ruining the image.
I don't want to put a repro CPO on this and I'm not expecting it to be totally perfect, but what is the best way to get this flaky funk off of this screened control panel. It doesn't appear to be the usual dead skin that accumulates around buttons, but maybe some type of coating that Atari or the pervious owner put over the paint. Ive tried greased lightning, isopropyl, magic eraser, and even goof off in some inconspicuous areas and it has lifted slightly, but there's a long way to go. When I scrape away at the pieces gently with a plastic scraper they seem to flake off. Just wondering if there's an easier way that I'm not thinking of so I don't have to scrape away at this for 3 weeks.
