I am going to pick up a Continental circuit later today. Pick will come after I get it home. Is this a game people on here like? I have read it is a underrated game.I am just happy to be getting another racing game.I am getting this very cheep because there are some issues with it. He told me the steering and sound do not work. Other then the normal loose pluns or not even plugged in what are some things to check for with these problems. He told me the rest of the game works just fine. Also does anyone make side art for these? I am thinking it would not be cheep since it is the entire side of the cab.

I rather like Continental Circuit, it's a pretty solid early psuedo-3D racer. Just played it the other week at a rest stop along the Turnpike haha.

I don't see any repro or NOS side art for sale after a quick Google search. :/ I'm not a huge expert yet, but the only other thing off the top of my head would be a bad connector on the PCB for the steering/sound problem.

Congrats on getting a fun game though cheap. Can't wait to see after you fix it up.

It is a pretty cool game, especially once you get the 3D working. If it doesn't have the 3D equipment I can help you modify a set of replacement glasses to work.

My first thought about your problem is the +12v is missing but I am pulling up a manual to verify.

When I get it home I will post more info about the deal.

Maybe I'll get lucky and it will just be something loose. Same thing happened with the Dynamite Duke I just picksed up. The guy told me nothing worked. When I get it home I plugged it in to see what would happen, the board was not hooked up, and everything came on. I plugged the board in and was playing the game just fine.

Awesome when the seller doesn't check things like that haha. Yeah I hope it's just something simple and not a pain in the ass. :)

I have a continental circuit, I have yet to get it working, having board level issues.

I bought a set of generic LCD shutter 3D glasses on eBay to adapt to the machine, there is a thread on it somewhere here.

I can't wait to get mine fixed. Upload some pictures of yours when you get it!

If I remember correctly, the cab has a slide out drawer access to the pcbs. I remember it being unlached, the drawer moved, and the monitor glass fell out of the cab. It bounced on the floor and did not break. So check that before you move it.

I just got home with it. So here is the hole deal. I found it on cl for $75. It stated the sound and steering wheel did not work. I was not looking for one at the time but thought I would throw out a offer and see what happens.Last night I emailed him a offer of $40 and told him I could pick it up the next day, today. This was about 8:30 last night. He emailed me back this morning and sed if I come and get it today he would do $40. I get it homa and plug it in and no sound. I coin it up and start to play. The gas peddel works, the shifter works. When I go to turn left the car goes left but when I go to turn right nothing. It also makes a lot of noise when I turn the wheel. Since it was getting dark I stopped there and will look at it better tomorrow. It looks like some of the wood has been replaced but the angled part on the top is pretty bad shape and crumbles when you touch it. One plus there is side art on one side, it is not the best shape but it is there.

Here are some picks taken from my sons ipod. I will bring my cammera tomorrow and get better picks.

I loved CC when I was a kid. My 711 had it and I could finish it on one quarter.

Wow. That's impressive. This game is tough.

Not sure how it holds up now tho

Very well, IMO. I'm in the middle of selling my upright. No one ever played it but me, and it's time to reclaim the space for something new.

I remember playing the game in 3d at my local arcade; the problem was people were always breaking and stealing the glasses (they were screwed into a pole that came down from the speaker section), so they had to quickly switch it to 2-D mode. It will be well worth it to get the 3d mode working again.

From what I have read the glasses are very hard to find.

Is the steering wheel suppost to have some kind of stops in it to stop it from spinning all the way around?

I lived at that 711. The list of games I could beat on one quarter blows my mind now. I could play thru Karnov then, I played it last year and couldn't get halfway thru the first board. Would likely be the same with CC, all my skills have eroded :(

Congrats on a great deal. I paid $75.00 for the one I got, also from a guy on Craigslist. The cab was in really good shape, but the game was dead. Turned out to be a faulty switcher.
I've said it before, I regret selling it, even though I made a nice profit. The game can be real frustrating; when you finally make it to Suzuka (the final track) and it rains, you cannot finish as World Champion ..or at least I can't...
Good luck on getting yours going. It has been a while, but I think the wheel does spin all the way around, similar to Pole Position. Could be wrong on that though.

On my machine the wheel does stop, and its supposed to have a spring to return the wheel to center. I have yet to find a spring that works as a replacement though(since mine was missing)

You guYs are so lucky. CC for $75 and $40, DAMN!!!. I paid $350 for mine and had to drive to another province totalling a 13 hour round trip to get mine but I am glad I did. Out of all my games, it's the one that I play the most. I always challenge myself to beat my own score lol.

The steering wheel does have a spring and rubber bushings that stop it from going around all the way. And as far as the glasses goes, there was a thread created by me a while ago. Just a matter of search.

If you need any help getting yours going, let me know. I am always willing to help :)
