Contest - Worst cabinet brought back from the dead

The PCB's were long gone when I got it. Too bad too. The only time I've played it was on a Colecovision. Got the CP if anyone is interested.

I've got the PCB (untested, but it should work) but $ is scarce right now, otherwise I'd be the first in line. The arcade version is MUCH harder than the Coleco, the movement is very fluid and fast in comparison, which makes it tough to line up for shooting through the buildings and getting through the pipes.

It's like the energizer bunny, keeps going and going...
Boards are all cleaned up now, new plastics etc.. have arrived, planning to bring the playfield indoors for cleanup this weekend

heh did you end up getting that "replacement cabinet" from our bro down south?

if so, youll be in good shape

Yep, already have some components mounted in it, working on the display boards this weekend and running the grounding straps.

When this is over I'm going to have an empty, slightly charred LOTR cabinet if anyone is interested. I would think it could be sanded to bare wood and it would look just fine though no idea where to go after that, are there full artwork packages for any games that would fit in there?

Custom planter?
Open top pinball beer cooler?

:)

Ok, as things stand now here's what I'd consider the top 5:

1 = Cadillacman's Tron - Started with VERY severe damage that would have sent most people screaming in the other direction, but still managed to salvage a nice looking game out of it. Also showed how effective replacing rotted wood with new biscuited in place can be, even on large spans like side panels.

2 = Prok's Sundance - Second only because his is more a reproduction than an outright salvage, but still VERY impressive and great to see such a rare game saved from oblivion

3 = Gameguy1957's Defender - Same as above, except termites instead of mold had the expensive meal

4 = Shardian's Pacman Cocktail

5 = Krajkerjac's Punch-out

If it were me and I had the room to keep it, I'd almost leave it just as it is, mount an LCD in it and make one of those virtual pinball tables from it. Think of the fire-themes you could go with!
