So, I am thinking of adding a dance pole. I see that there are quite a few removable ones out there that seem to have good ratings on Amazon. I'd like removable just so it isn't always there. Has anyone else done this or used one? I would appreciate any recommendations if so...

I am suspecting that it will be a HUGE hit with some of the girls who come over!

Never done it but just reading the title before opening the thread I had an idea of what you were gonna say and I was spot on. Only thing I have to ad to this is that I've seen many videos where the pole is not properly mounted and girls go flying. I'm not sure how comfortable I would really be with a removable pole myself. I'd probably be looking for the least intrusive way possible to put in a pole that actually bolts to the ceiling and floor. Maybe a removable pole where I drilled a couple of holes at the top end to anchor to a stud for stability.

Oh Damn I can't think of anything better. Oh first page of what I'm sure will become your second epic thread. Hell I will even start a donation drive if that helps. Think if everyone that posted in the pic thread gave a dollar you would be around six hundred. Just imagine at .25 a view.

We are a non-profit, community service organization.

The reviews seem to indicate that they are safe as long as you mount up to a beam (rather than just drywall).

Fire pole wont work to the full effect. Stripper poles rotate on bearings 360*. That way they can do all the crazy upside-down spin tricks while sliding down the pole. I found this out because at one time I was going to install a firepole in my house from second floor to basement and wanted to use a stripper pole because it was way cheaper and you can get crazy ones. (neon lit, different colors, etc) Then I found out about the bearings and scrapped the idea because fire poles are so expensive.

Are they all supposed to do that? (rotate 360) I saw some advertised that did but not all. I am no expert in this area! ...I just want to make a good choice.

Field Trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purely for Research and consulting purposes...

You and I know in the Metro Detroit Area there were many Research Facilities to get ideas, talk to the professionals, take in the "flavor" of the entertainment venue...

I could see it know, your girlfriend with her notepad and glasses on,"honey when are we going?"

Tell me how it goes...

+1 on this one. I'm in for a donation, lol. But please - no tease cropped pics! lol

I'll probably just pick one up this week based upon Amazon feedback... The ones that light-up look kinda cool as well as the ones that spin.

...wish I had it this past weekend! Would have worked out well!!

Phet is booking his flight to Michigan now, I'd imagine he keeps a suitcase packed up with costumes for just such an emergency (cop, indian, fire fighter, biker, construction worker - check... oil - check).

No Magic Mike-esque pics please.

Yep , before I clicked to open the thread I thought , he wants a stripper pole ........

Remember Kirk, and I'm sure you know this, but make sure you place the pole far enough from the games in case it comes out the ceiling from "overuse" so not to strike one of your nice game cabinets or monitors.

That would get you 7 years of arcade bad luck.

Hope it turns out right and have fun on the "testing" phase. Living the dream, man!

Thanks! I like my luck right where it is!!
