Console War Put On Hold

This is funny as well as concerning. I'm going to buy a 360 next week, is mine going to crap out like that? :D

i think the newer ones are better, i had 2 of them 2 years ago, and both crapped out within a year. Go with the PS3.

Half my friends said to go with the PS3, the other half, Xbox.

So I went with the Wii. :D

Pretty fun pics. Although I wish they would have put a mario doll in there pouring out a 40oz of Old E.

I had three of them red ring on me. Thats why I went with the PS3 on my fourth go around.

The Nintendo Wii is the worst out of the three!

What do you people do to them!! :)

When you say worst, you mean the worst at breaking, right? ;)

haha :) , I like my Wii, I can agree that's aimed for the younger age group. It's seen it's good days. But I think it's time for me to move on.

What exactly does the red rings of death exactly signify. I've played on one of my friends Box's that currently had the Rrod, it seemed to work fine, and it still does!

of all my friends, i dont think anyone is on their 1st 360. i would never buy another.

I am on my second 360. To be fair, my first one was modded and God knows what they did to it. I love the 360 because the online play is second to none and I love the exclusive titles. I have a Wii too that barely ever gets played. It is a nice distraction from real games once in a blue moon.

I have owned 3 PS3's and 2 Wii's for years. All this time, my son's friends and everyone that I know who has owned a 360 has had the RROD. I FINALLY broke down last year and got a 360 when Target was blowing out the arcade models for $85, just before the "new" systems came out. I haven't hardly played it at all. Don't think that I will ever have the RROD, because I am not your "typical" user. I have always gotten a real chuckle about how basically EVERYONE that I know of has had Problems with theirs.

The PS3, regardless of the major difference in reliability, has always been the superior system in my personal opinion. The Blu Ray feature alone made it a "bargain" from the early days, due to the fact that initial Blu Ray players were more expensive than the PS3 system, and the PS3 (due to it's system horsepower) was the fastest player around. The 360, however, just goes to prove the fact that most Americans are cheap asses. Parents have bought 360's for their kids based primarily on the fact that the initial purchase price has traditionally been less than a PS3. What they didn't consider, however, was the fact that you had to pay extra for all of the features that were already built into the PS3 (hard drive, wireless Internet connectivity, wireless controllers) PLUS pay a extra fee of $50 per year just to play games online. In the long run, the Xbox costs AT LEAST as much as the PS3, and even more if you play online. Kind of reminds me of a payment installment scheme for people who can't afford to pay cash for a used car, etc.

Without trying to sound like a "snob", it has been my experience (and from what I am hearing all the time from my 15 year old son) is that the online experience between the two systems are drastically different. The teen and pre-teen kids who play on Xbox Live are typically more disrespectful, lewd, and tend to play whatever the "COD" or Halo "flavor of the month" might happen to be at the time. The PS3, on the other hand, tends to have more people socializing with games like "Little Big Planet" and "Modnation Racers", where smack-talk and profanity would typically not be commonplace. Personally, I don't play online (even on the PS3) due to the fact that I am a "jump in and play" person who doesn't want to spend a lot of time waiting for a matchmaking service to connect me. It's just not my thing.
