CONSOLE MARKETPLACE - FOR SALE / TRADE / WANTED - Open Community General Thread

Okay so, there's no real "good" place right now to put the console related marketplace items. By request, we'll try making one general thread since the volume of such posts is low anyway.

So here's the idea: Got some console stuff for sale or trade? Post in this thread with what you have. Looking for something specific? Post that as well.

My thought is that this would be used for small batches of stuff for now. So, if you're selling off your entire collection or something, it's probably still best to start a separate thread (in the console forum), then maybe come here and post a link to said thread if you wish.

I won't try and dictate a set number of items that warrant a separate thread, so just make a reasonable judgement call. I'd argue that if someone has to scroll through long text list of items, then that probably needs it's own thread. Of course, plenty of pics are still welcome. If you hit the max and need more posts, then again, probably best to start a separate thread.

Sure there is:
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=95

It even says "console" in the section description.

I don't know about all the other console guys, but I rarely look in that section. It gets lost in the list of subsections and, on top of that, console stuff gets buried with "all other machines" and it's a cluster-F. I notice most guys tend to just post in the console section if they want to sell something.

Ha. I think I may have been the one to add that to the description way back when, too (or suggested it). At the time, I don't think it helped and I forgot all about it. Meh.

However, that's where they should go, guys. I don't mind leaving this here as a sort of mini trading thread where we can go back and forth without separate threads, but I think it may be more useful to use as a running thread to link directly to threads in the other forum.

In reality, this thread should probably be closed and a sticky should instead direct to the other forum. I really don't think there's enough console trading to warrant its own subforum, but I could be wrong. I'll dig through the other forum and see.

How about a sticky thread for cool places to buy retro system parts?

I just did my first purchase on sellmyretro.com - some Sinclair ZX80/81 and TS1000 AV mod kit boards. :)

console-related: I'm still looking for a few issues of EGM - 51-53, 68-69, 72, 75-80, 84-85, 89, 91, 94, 98-99, 127, 136, 139, 143, 149, 158.
I'll look through what EGMs I have, but I don't have many left. About the only magazine collection I've kept mostly intact is Nintendo Power.

I have a small collection of EGM, GamePro and Tips&Tricks, which I need to go through anyway as I still haven't packed them. I'll see if I get to it tonight and let you know.

Okay so I had a look through my boxes of magazines... turns out some of the boxes had water damage :(

The only EGM that is intact is #27. Sorry, I thought I had at least one that you were looking for.

I did find some other interesting issues of other mags and some cool posters in there... I may post some pictures before I pack them away if I can find an appropriate section for that kind of thing.

I'm looking for retro controllers in decent shape. Let me know what you have. I'm a big Nintendo fan, especially Gamecube.

Wanted: Nintendo GameCube component video cables. $200 for one of these on eBay is pretty insane

Wow, that is pretty pricey! You can buy a refurbished wii and component or HDMI cables for that system way cheaper than the cable for Gamecube, and the Wii is backwards compatible with the games, memory cards, and controllers. (I don't know if the Wii Mini is backwards compatible, so take caution with that one) Unless you just REALLY want to play on an actual Gamecube, my recomendation is to grab a Wii instead. I think the only thing you won't be able to do with Gamecube games on the Wii is play LAN games in multiplayer like Mario Kart Double Dash, but check around the web if anyone has tried to do that with the Wii's USB ethernet dongle. I'm guessing the USB hardware is inaccessible in Gamecube mode, but check around.

Weird part request

Any of you have one of those original Xbox Headsets sitting around? I'm looking for just the headband part (not the mic/earphone) for a head tracking project I'm putting together. I'd love to get ahold of one for a reasonable price.

Looks like this:
