Considering listing my UMK3 at what might be a high price....

I could use the cash... I am thinking about listing this at $500 on CL. Yeah, its in a faded MK cab, but the monitor looks brand new and the cab is in pretty good shape. How much crack am I on? Either way, I'm thinking "too much less and I might as well keep it". The board does have a zip tie around a socket but works all the way now (a cracket socket was making the board produce rom errors). I do enjoy the game (3rd MK I've owned so far) so this is just a thought in my mind at the moment.

Thoughts?

Well I had my dedicated listed for like a month. Took forever to sell and I got 450 for it. Its was in real nice shape and played perfect.

I paid $400 for mine and it was in decent condition (no fade)

No harm in listing it for $500 and see if you get any offers. I get it... You need the money but don't really want to part with the cab, but if somebody gave you $500 you would let it go.

I did the same a while ago, listed my TMNT for $1500 and believe it or not I got multiple offers for $1000. But cabs like that never come up for sale in my area. I just re-listed it for $1000 I'm ready to let it go now lol

Can't hurt to give it a try. You will probably end up getting $350 for it if you want to sell it. I posted my dedicated MK4 on CL at $400 which I thought was really low and I heard crickets. The damn board alone goes for $200. I finally had one person express interest and sold it to him for $400, I wasn't going to go any cheaper than that. I took that money and picked up a dedicated MK3 for $200, which was the cabinet I really wanted anyway when I bought the MK4.

Keith, if you end up having to settle for less money than what you want, then why don't you swap that monitor with your Rush the Rock monitor?

Man don't worry about what other people think, you don't need anybody's permission to put a game online for whatever price, and that thing is well worth 500 bucks. Good luck with your sale!

If you can get $500 out of that, I'll ship all the beat up MK cabs I can get here! I had a mint MK1 that I couldn't move at $350 for some reason, but I think it really is a regional thing... I would have sold it a couple times over for more than that if I was in a different locale. Funny how games are worth more in some regions than others..

Good luck!

you would get more money if you put it back to a MK1

I agree totally. Worst case you still have the game and the complainers don't :)

Ironically, I sold a Mortal Kombat yesterday for 500 dollars. It wasn't even in a dedicated cabinet! If you want to sell the games FAST, though, you won't pull that off. You have to be willing to sit on them until the right customer comes along.

25" Standard Resolution versus 27" Medium Resolution...

I'm not too worried about my Rush monitor right now. Ill cap it eventually and then figure something else out if that doesnt fix it.

I guess Ill list UMK3 and see if I get a bite.

I might be interested. I would pay that maybe. Price isnt the issue I need to make sure I sell it first. Im doing a few rather large game rooms, 1 with a 60k budget and another with a $150k budget. I have a smaller one though in mind for this game with a 15k budget. Im trying to fit in as many games as possible so a little bit of fading wont matter.
