I have an original/dedicated Neo Geo MVS-2 Mini, along with a Blue Elf Jamma cart:

...along with this Jamma to MVS adapter:

They combine forces to become:

Where/how do I connect this PCB to the Neo Geo MVS system? The other end of the Jamma to MVS adapter reads "NEOGEO MVS Multislot Cabinet". That's what I have... but it's too small to fit into the MVS cart area, and removing the existing Jamma gives me another set of pins.... do I plug it right into that harness that's now exposed?

Is this even possible, or perhaps unsafe for the Neo Geo MVS without additional modification?

your problem is that Blue Elf isn't JAMMA. It's very close but certain pins are different.

which is why I built this

I wouldn't put a blue elf into a MVS system unless you don't care about all of those 6 button games. I think it goes best into a capcom fighter machine.

Here's your connector wiring info.

You have to figure out what to do about your 5 and 6 buttons used on the Blue Elf. They go all the way down to the 2nd ground on the pins E/27 and use up the pins normally used for your Select up and Select down D/26.

+1

You're pretty much leaving out all the Capcom fighters unless you plan on installing 4 more buttons in your control panel.

Ahh, okay. I also see that my cabinet has the MV-2F, which is MVS and not even Jamma:

..so this looks not to even be a real option, in addition to losing the 6 button games.

The other option (another forum member was very helpful in giving me suggestions on this) was to connect it to my Hanaho SNK Gameroom Classics bartop:

I'd be willing to drill more button holes although it's a tight space already. This is a Jamma cabinet, but I suppose I'm still stuck with the issue of Blue Elf not being Jamma like you said. Would that adapter help me out in this situation, and would you be willing to make one? :) I was also advised that I'd want to add a separate power supply and do some rewiring to get the Blue Elf working in the SNK bartop. It's all a little above my head :( I don't suppose anybody in NJ would be willing to come help me out??

I would save the blue elf for a 6 button cab. Maybe one w/ a CPS1 harness if you dont' want to mess with the JAMMA harness and then have me build an adaptor for it.

I would then get a MVS multi cart for your 2 slot upright.

I would leave your bartop alone since you already have a 2 slot.

Bump!!

Howdy all...noob here. i wanted to get peoples thoughts on my situation. i have a Capcom dedicated cab Street Fighter CE. ive upgraded the cab to a 20" LCD Flat screen using this CGA/EGA/YUV to VGA adapter.....

...Now im looking at installing the Blue Elf 2 and wanted to get some thoughts. I believe the cab is fully wired with a JAMMA setup using 2 joys, 12 buttons, 2 players. Will the BE2 simply take the place of the main SFCE board?? Thanks for the reply's in advance...
