Hi all-
I recently bought an original Pac cabinet that needed alot of cosmetic and technical repair. The cabinet now looks awesome after repainting, T-molding, etc... I sent the motherboard out for repairs, now works perfect...The original Wells Gardner monitor works but has alot of burn, so I found a newer Wells Gardner on ebay and want to hook it up, but I'm a little unsure of the wiring connections...From what I understand, the monitor from ebay came from a casino machine and as you can see in my pics that there are several wires connected to the monitor. I'm thinking that I don't need these wires as they are likely the prior use in a casino machine. My Pac cabinet has a power connection with 2 wires, whereas this monitor has a connector with 3 wires. Would the red, green blue and sync connections be the same? If anyone can give some advice I would appreciate it. I don't get into the schematical aspects of the games too much..
Thanks,
Ben

two things.

what was the original chassis on the tube.

you cannot just mix and match like that without knowing what you have.

yokes are different and so are the chassis that drive them.

pics of each chassis for comparison.

Wells G 19K7203 for Pacman upright

Hey Buffet-
The old monitor is being worked on by somebody right now so I'll have a spare...The only thing that I know about the old monitor is that it was labeled RCA and the guy who's working on it said that it was a Wells Gardner...I wasn't sure if I could just hook up the Pac connections to the new monitor and go. Are the connections coming from an original Pacman all standard for power, sync and the RGB? Or will I need some kind of adapter for the harness? I wish I knew more about the technical aspects but I don't...I appreciate whatever advice I can get...

RCA is the tube type not the chassis type.

is the old chassis with it's tube at the repair place.

and is the chassis and tube you have in there now a mated pair?

or was it a tube you had and threw this chassis on to it.

the connections for the video harness are the same. but you may have to move the sync wires around a little bit to get it to sync.

Wells 19K7203 for Pacman

The old monitor tube and chassis is with the repairman right now...The monitor I got on ebay is a complete monitor with matching tube and chassis...It just needs to be mounted in a cabinet and plugged in...I just wasn't sure about my wiring...The power wire connector in Pacman that goes to a monitor has 2 wires, but the monitor has a power connector with 3 wires...Then there is the harness that is connected to the monitor right now that has several wires and I am thinking that I may not need those?

K7203 is standard-res and will work in Pac-Man just fine. Just connect the original monitor power wires to the power connector of the K7203 (adapting the connectors if necessary). Then connect the video connector(s) to the 10-pin white connector the same way they connected to the original monitor. The only change will be to the sync wiring. The K7203 only requires the composite sync on pin 10 (far right pin). If you connect it to the vertical sync also (pin 9) then it won't sync properly no matter how much you adjust it. If your original sync wiring has both pins connected for sync, cut the one to pin 9...
