I am new to working on arcade machines. I am in the process of collecting the parts to build my own cabinet. I have a question about how to hook up the monitor. I have a 19 inch LCD Wells Gardner monitor. It has a 9 pin CGA connector on it. How do I connect the standard 5 pin jamma monitor connector to the 9 pin wells gardner one? Is there an adapter that can be used or are these two connectors even compatible with each other? Thanks for the help!

just plug it in. I think that LCD won't care about the sync polarity. if it does then you'll know. :p

Post a pic of your 5 pin connector.

If it is Molex KK 3.96 then the best thing you can do is to get a 10pm Molex KK 3.96 connector like this one (with locking ramp):

Then, extract the pins from the existing 5 pin connector and place them in the correct location as shown below (this is form a 19" WG CGA LCD):

Sync goes to the Comp Sync location.

But, let's see that 5pin connector you currently have…

I'm assuming it's the 5-pin connector used on the Chinese JAMMA harnesses, adapters, etc. like attached.

I'm not aware of an adapter with the male pins... only PCB mount connectors. IMO, I'd cut off the connector and install the Molex KK 3.96 connector on the harness.
