Hey folks,

I recently purchased a Congo pinball machine while out on a trip to the Midwest. It was in really good cosmetic shape but when I got it home I noticed a small problem with the ramps in the back of the machine. The Amy Gorilla ramp in the back of the machine looks like it is set to high and this prevents the ball from being able to be caught once the double kicker kicks it up. The ball wont physically fit through the ramp workings.

The manual has been less than helpful on which posts and parts belong where and I would really like to know what it is supposed to look and act like before I start prodding around with a screwdriver. Would anyone that owns this machine be willing to post a few close up pictures of the back clear ramp and the Amy ramp specifically how its connected to the playfield?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dave

Thanks folks, some how the ramp melted. I have no clue as to how but its clearly sagging down about half an inch and deformed from what it should be. I will have to try to find a replacement.

the torch used for flame polishing ramps can be used to warm up the melted piece. if you are careful and have gloves and some tools ready, you might be able to save it.
maybe not

i was flame polishing a ramp on my WHO dunnit and i was moving along. when i looked back i had heated a part up too much and it had sagged real bad. it had kinda cooled and would not go back into shape. i was bummed. then, i tried heating it up and sure nuff ! i could bend it back up. had to rig a clamp to keep it in shape kinda but when it cooled, one could hardly tell it was almost a melted mess. whew!

Real light heat I assume? I am taking the pin apart this weekend to wax the playfield perhaps I will give that a try if I feel brave. Im just worried that I may be completely boned if I am unable to find a replacement. Once I pull it off we shall see exactly how bad I am. Its pretty obvous that someone monkeyed (or gorillia-ed) with this thing at once point and really messed it up. Some of the trim pieces under it are melted as well. It really makes me wonder what the heck would cause something like that because other than that the playfield is absolutely mint...

sure sounds like something under all that got real hot and melted all that was above it. better start an investigation.
