congo bongo getting some slight "graphics issues"

went through the self test and ram/vram, etc. all tested out as good.

checked the connections of everything inside and they appear to be ok.

power supply huh?

I didn't really look at it, because, well, it isn't super easy to access.

do guys rebuild these?

I don't see a picture.

Try reseating your chips...

I am not sure if I could get a picture. It is a bit of random little 'flashes' or 'pretend that an issue may arise' and then
after going through self test mode, the 3rd screen (rhinos) put some additional lines on the screen (ground really)

I will mess with the chips first, thanks.

ok so I reseated all the chips, checked connections, etc.

put her back in, same thing.

but what I noticed as I had the board out, is the braze high score save/free play kit, sits on top of the main board, but kind of scrunches under the sound board. without the braze kit, the sound board would sit nicely upon some plastic mounting feet and be solid.

with the braze kit in there the sound board cannot sit on those feet because the braze kit is too tall. So to have the sound board mounted is to have it resting on top of the braze kit.

so I plugged her back in again(with a loose-ish sound board) same thing, lines. I wiggle/move the sound board a touch, boom lines are gone. so the sound board is "shorting out" on some modest level causing graphics glitches. just lines really.

I need to find some much taller pcb mounting feet (probably have to make some) or figure something out so that sound board doesn't touch the braze board.

kind of flawed it seems

Put some electrical tape between them and see if that helps. or a small piece of foam paper....
