I have been rebuilding a couple of Star Castles. I thought I had the Power Supplies fixed, but I am having some weird issues with the CP 601.
What was happening was the the voltages for the Audio board were all wrong, but the other boards were fine - Monitor and CPU (all measured on the pins of their connectors). The 25v and -25v are both feed from the same pin on the PS to the monitor and audio. So i sprayed some deoxit on the connectors and then the voltages measured correct.
So I figured everything should now work.....wrong
Then I hook everything back up and now the 5v at the different connectors measures only 1v when hooked to the CPU. So it doesn't work.
If I hook my CP 573 PS up to the machine everything works fine and the 5v measures 5v no matter if one or none of the boards are connected.
So the problem is with the 601.....but what could it be? Electrolytics and breakers were replaced.
