computer to arcade monitor?

i want to use a arcade monitor for a mame. like to go from computer to arcade monitor.what part do i need to get and how does it hook up? anything else needed? thanks Paul [email protected]
 
Actually, if you're using a jamma cab (and I'm sure you are), you're better off using a j-pac. I would not waste money or time on a vga to rgb converter unless you already have some keyboard encoder that you're partial to.

The j-pac also functions as the keyboard encoder. The device that converts arcade button pushes to keyboard strokes.

A vga cable goes between the computer and the j-pac. The j-pac converts the video. They cost about $60.

Only thing is you might want to think about getting an arcadevga video card that puts out the correct frequencies. There is software to do this also if you don't want to spend $100 on the video card.
