So I finally tore into my CS today.

I knew the TV set had problems, and I just had to take the thing out and examine the board. I found bad solders, broken wires, and the circuit board broken in two places. Made all repairs I could to the TV, wired it all back up and now I have this...

Basically a starfield and some numbers on the side of the screen that seem to count for a couple of seconds. Then everything blinks as if the game is resetting, and we get the same show over again.

I think the blinking is the game resetting, because if the TV is on with no signal, it wont blink like that. Just a soild grey screen.

I know ya'll work on puter' spaces every day of the week, any ideas? :)

I am no CS expert by any means, but I had a GORF board that reset itself much like that and it turned out to be a bad RAM chip. Maybe thats a start?

Thanks, I pulled the boards (3) and according to the manual, I should be able to get a starfield and the counter with just the bottom (sync star) board in place.

That board has quite a few 38 year old electrolytic caps on it, so I will replace all those first, and then see what happens.

I will update this thread with any findings.
