Compton Superauction Call

Went for the preview, nothing exciting. In terms of classic video games: only a sinistar, and maybe an atari football CT, a millipede are in good overall condition. Everything else needs good amount of work. As usual, a lot of driving, fighting, shooting.............video game that is. ;-)

Decent Mappy $75. Road Blasters $125. A super nice Sunset Riders went for $100, I think. Working Sinistar went for $150 or $175. Berzerk $225. There appeared to be some nice lots of boards, marquees, and a huge lot of a couple hundred op manuals.

Let's not forget the empty Rampage cabinet for $3.

There were a few classics here and there but overall it was a lotta junk.

Those pallets of parts looked to be the best thing in the auction. I saw several MB widebody marquees and that Space Ace kit.

I only lasted until 11:30.

Does anybody know if it was a space ace 91 kit or just the regular dragons lair conversion kit! If its the 91 kit and u wanna sell it ill buy it.

Anybody take any pictures.

Was the sunset riders a dedicated 4 player?

Yeah, pretty nice....full side art, working. If it was a 4p TMNT in that shape, I woulda bid.

Anyway - this auction blew. 5 pins, 4 of which were early 80's crap, and one beat up SF2. Those palates of kits/parts/art/boards looked really interesting....but I got bored and left before they got to those. I had a feeling they'd go for more than I'd want to "risk" ...but the temptation was there...to bring home a ton of those mystery boxes just to see what was in them.

It was great to see the "usual suspects" at the auction today. Results were interesting with bill changers for $1, working mega touch games for $50-90 and slots for $50-$95. This was definitely a buyer's auction and I did not detect a lot of that seller buy back nonsense.

Did you see what that small CD Juke sold for? I was going to stay and get that and a MegaTouch but got bored and left :(

I got a bag of Frito's out of one of the vending machines for sale. I almost ate it out of boredom.

I thought it was a pretty sad auction, I thought the viking pin was super clean inside and out, but that didn't make up for the fact that there were only 5 pins. Especially with the newest being street fighter. I also thought that the games were way less accessible than they were at the last auction, there were no breaks in the rows getting behind/to the backs of machines were tough. I also felt like the first row's width was way to narrow, I couldn't get anywhere near the machines during the auction. I also Couldnt believe not one game was powered on during the viewing (great work super auctions). Last auction I brought a power cord but didnt really use it cause I was always able to find power close enough. Not today though- needed one bad. Plus it almost seemed like everytime I got a game on someone would pull the plug anyways. IMO, not worth the drive.

Anyone actually stick it out? I wanted too, but the quality of everything was sooo poor I couldn't handle three more rows of junk before the pallet lots and megatouches. Driving home in 405 traffic sure was great... Wondering if I should have hung out, how late did it go? what did the marquees go for?

Ok,

So this was my first time at a game auction...

I was pretty amazed that people were able to buy working games in decent condition for like 50 to 100 bucks..

Not the best games, however still pretty amazing.. I ended up with a Ms Pacman ($200) and a Street Fighter 2 Pinball for $300...

I think I did alright.. I am a little worried about the pinball. The only thing that appeared wrong was one of the flippers was stuck (Bad Coil), however when I got home I opened it up and noticed a wire that was cut, looks like on purpose.. I have not hooked it back up yet.. I am going to wait till I get the flipper rebuild kits..

Also, there is a car missing from the game (some kind of crash car)...

All in all I enjoyed myself, had no idea what it was going to be like.. I will be back in December when the auction hits Costa Mesa..

Wow....did you get all the pallets? Dare I ask what they went for? ;)

If there's any Konami Mikie art in there, PM me! :)

6 out of 10. priced from $25 to 500 per (the pallet with nos)picked up a pallet with conversion kits, and a box of neo geo carts.

If that Space ace kit is a 91 kit ill buy it. I'm also looking for anything to do with laser games, especially begas battle, goal to go, cube quest, freedom fighter! But any laser stuff I'm interested in!

Thanks

What's with the avater? Why do people feel the need to have this type of inappropiate stuff on an arcade based message board?
