Not an arcade game but it's in the arcade...

So, we had a party for July 4th and I finally mostly finished my touchscreen jukebox. I haven't written it all up yet but I took some pics:

Turned out REALLY good. Cost me ~$110 total.
Old laptop: free
Touchscreen monitor ~$100
PVC: ~$10

Works amazingly well - it's running DWJukebox with the LCARS (Star Trek) theme. I still *might* paint the PVC and/or the plastic around the monitor if I can figure out would look good. I'll get the info on the build process written up shortly but feel free to ask questions and I'll answer them here.

That's pretty cool. I need to get back to working on mine. That touchscreen I had wouldn't work with DW Jukebox on DOS. I just need to bite the bullet and do Windows.

Is it just a remote screen for the PC on top of your DOT?

Also, love the LCARS theme. :)

Edit: Also did you consider feeding the cables through the PVC?

Yes - this is running XP

Yep. For the party I closed the laptop so it couldn't be seen. I wanted to build a whole box to make it self enclosed but I have no wood working skills and wasn't sure I wanted to dismantle the laptop to wire in a new on/off button.

Yep - couldn't easily do it though. The connectors on the end are too big to feed through the 1/2 inch PVC. I MIGHT be able to dremel out a trench in the PVC and "stuff" the wires in but I'm not sure that would work and not sure if that would compromise the structural integrity. I was thinking about painting the cables white to blend in maybe :)

Is that a cabinet that it's mounted on? If so, why no cutout a hole for the LCD panel in that? I'm not too big a fan of the PVC.

Yes - it's a cabinet we have in the gameroom/garage that stores kitchen supplies - can't cut any huge holes in it. You can see a better view here:

Yeah - I don't mind the PVC at all right now. Til I come up with a better plan I'll probably leave it - and it was only $10 so it's not a big deal if I come up with something else. I made it spur of the moment in a couple hours cause i had no way to mount it. Maybe I need an LCD TV mount if I could get one cheap and it fit.
