Hi everybody,

I'm in the process of starting a project and thought I'd throw up where I'm at so far so I can get some input. I've never worked on putting anything like this together before, so it's safe to assume I know nothing about how to do this at this stage of the process!

Right now I have an arcade monitor (vertical mount), coin mech, and original Pac-Man control panel. The cabinet I'm using has a speaker in it, but I don't know if it works or how to hook it up to anything.

So that means as far as I know, I still need to purchase a power supply and a PCB. I'm not sure how to hook everything together, so are there wires I'll need to purchase as well?

After dropping the money on the control panel I found out how hard it is to find side-art, and I really don't want to pay (or deal with) two-bits. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that, suggestions welcome! Also, if anybody knows what the paint code is to get the Pac-Man yellow perfectly matched that would be most useful.

If anything sounds really far off, please don't hesitate to let me know! Again, any sort of feedback can be a ton of help for me. Thanks!

Your trying to put it all together into this, right?

That's correct! Like I said, I'm trying to do some research on what parts I'm missing...but I'm not 100% sure. I'd like to start figuring out what all I need to buy so I can prioritize while I buff out the cabinet and whatnot.

I have bought from Two-bits before but that new news is out and I'm not buying from them again! That doesn't leave you with much. hm.. Well this web site has tons of info http://www.crazykong.com/cabs/pacman/ I've heard of people getting pac-man stencils but from my understanding they are hard to get a hold of. Ask Arcadenut if he's got anything. I think on his site he once got some pac-man stencils im not sure though.

Thanks, Ghostlyguy! That's a big help, I'll check out both of those options for the cab.

Would you happen to know what the hardware requirements are for a dedicated cab?

Happy to help.

I'm not sure what exactly you need to pull this off. I've never done what your doing before..
I don't want to turn you in the wrong direction. I'm guessing basic stuff like Needle nose plyres, Hot glue gun , Sander, wood filler. Arcadenut has a website dedicated to restoration as well. http://www.arcaderestoration.com/

Main thing don't panic, There's always a solution to every thing and there's of people around here that probably know how too. let me know if this works out for yah.

I don't know where you live, but you may want to consider finding a complete cabinet and going from there. They aren't that expensive these days, especially if it's not working and needs cosmetic repairs. This may be hard to believe, but buying the parts separately can end up costing more than buying the entire machine. Keep watching Craigslist, and one should pop up near you.

Then in about a month, you'll have another 14 games in your garage.

You're probably right, but most Pac-Man cab's I've seen in the last couple months have been around 1,000. Besides, I need a good project and I have an empty cab! :)

Todd from tntamusements sells complete upright pacman wiring for $20 plus $10 shipping.

That's where I got mine and it worked perfectly. Here is my restore that should help you out. It contains the paint codes if you want to use automotive paint (warning: not cheap).

Here are the before and afters:

As far as stencils, they are out there, but you'll probably need to get your post count up before someone will offer them up.
