Complete Atari Production Numbers- Revised

Yes, this is cool. If I'm reading this right, there were only 300 Major Havoc's made?.....Interesting

Yeah, in some cases the numbers are surprising me, too. I knew the Crystal Castles cocktail had a low production run, but I would have thought the upright had a larger number.

Thanks for this. Love this kind of stuff.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Something seems off on the Gauntlet 2 pricing.
It says Gauntlet 2 - 209 made (kits for Gauntlet 1?)
4 player $595
2 player $395

Wow - the Tempest numbers are interesting. The upright was $2295 and the cabaret $2195 when released, and by late '82 they were selling for $595 and $395 respectively.

yeah, i was just gonna say that. that's crazy. i'd be buying tempests all day for those prices.

also, i didn't know they built more warlords cocktails than uprights. makes sense, and i guess that's probably why i've never seen an upright in the wild.

I thought they produced a lot more than 40K of Asteroids? The number that's usually reported is somewhere around 70K.

Also the I,Robot number shown is 750, but the old story is 500 US, and 500 overseas that were lost in shipment.

Overall the production numbers all seem on the low side, even compared to other Atari documents released over the years, I wonder what's the whole story?

As always, thanks for investing the time to preserve and share this stuff! We're all thankful that collection ended up in good hands.

For Tank 8 never mind, I see that's the price. Most expensive game built up to that time perhaps?

The numbers have been pretty pretty much the same over all three documents that I have seen. The docs are from three different periods in the 80's and 90's.

The iRobot story is bullshit and has always been bullshit. Total build is 750

I Think this is the story. Runs of 1000 were considered good once the market went to hell. The prices doubled and tripled, so they did not need to sell as many units. The company also contracted several times, so they needed to support less and less staff and real estate.

T-Mek was a little lower than I expected.

Any numbers on War or Gauntlet Legends out there? I'm curious to see how those fared.

This is cool stuff. Only 371 Escape From the Planet of the Robot Monsters dedicated?? I didn't think there were that many Assault machines out there. And Millipede had about half the run I'd have assumed.

Thanks, Scott.
