Have a two Nintendo Sanyo 20EZV with some major burn in. Visible during gameplay.
But are otherwise bright.....

What are the compatible tube types for Sanyo's?
Of course I'd think TVs would be best donors, but what sizes should I be looking for?

New to the Nintendo arcade stuff biz.

Check later in general and I'll post pictures of my new addition. "Red Tent"

What I was thinking if I can check around for a few 20" TVs on craigslist for cheap and open them up to see if the tube's could match the neck type.

How many neck pins does the Sanyo 20EZV tubes normally have?
That way I don't have to pull this whole thing apart anytime soon......

The red tent cocktail uses 18" tubes, not 19/20's. Those are XM-1801N monitors, not 20EZ's on your pics. In fact they're SHARP's, not even SANYO's

Good luck finding 18" donor tubes. I found one single one in 10 years -- a JC Penny TV set in a square case (tuner/speakers located below the tube instead of alongside).

Tossed it before I eventually came up with 2 XM-1800's :(

20" tubes are almost always the same as 19"... 19" is the viewable area (how they were sold in the U.S.) while 20" is the area including the glass to the edge corner tab that is not usable. Computer monitor MFG's eventually got in trouble for claiming this measurement in size, as a 14" was always 13" viewable, 17" = 16" view, 19" = 18" viewable and were forced to change advertising. TV's were always sold as viewable.

However -- there are some tubes that aren't compatable due to the shape of the tube bell, a slight change in the dogear mounts (closer to the front of the tube vs the back or mounted at a different angle to the corner). But in General, a A51 or A48 (51/48 cm) will work as a 19" monitor with only some exceptions like square corner tubes, etc..

Yep, I was gonna post when I first saw this thread but forgot. You have a red tent, you have 18 inch Sharp Monitors. Pretty much every machine I have seen has burnt tubes. I've never sourced a replacement tube, but I am sure there might be something out there.

Great...........................................................

Has anyone ever tried to adopt a replacement monitor for these things? Like a different size monitor setup, i know we would lose the audio amp and there would be a video inverter whoozits needed but I don't think it would be impossible to do something about this...

Kinda sad now that my dreams of having burn free monitors was dashed so quickly lol. I love this cabinet, but now it just makes me sad. I can restore, but I can never fully restore it.......
