Holy cow!

How things change with time.
I have a friend with a 'The Grid' game that has some EPROM error messages at boot. I was going to offer to burn some chips, but I don't know if I have the capability. I currently am holding another friend's eprom burner and have looked at the eprom files and driver from MAME.

The files are 4MB in size!
Is that a 27C040? I don't have the actual board yet.

Are they 27C4001 ! I'm looking- that looks like mega BYTES while the 27C040 are mega BITS..

Wow- not cheap either. I think I'll crawl back to my 1980's arcade....

27C322. 32 megabit, 4 megabyte. They're 16 bit wide, and a bit picky about bus timings when programming. Many programmers don't support them.

4M BYTEs = 32 MBITS = 27c322 eproms

4M BITS = (512KBytes) =27c4001/27c040 eproms

And as someone else pointed out, many programmers won't do 27c322's.

I've got 8 different programmers
and only my Data I/O 3980XPi will program those.

Cheers,
Steph
