Compatability list for swapping PCB's into other cabs???

Does something like this exist? I would like to change the PCB and marquee every few months out of some of my cabs that have no side art, just to keep things fresh when the fella's come over so we don't end up playing the same games all the time. For example, my double dragon cab, would any PCB supporting an 8 way joy and two buttons work on this regardless of the manufacturer of the board?

Look for JAMMA standard boards. If you have an idea of what game you would like to switch into your JAMMA wired cabinet (assuming it is JAMMA) you can goto KLOV and search for the game title. The information about most games includes the control type (joystick 4/8 way, and number of buttons needed and the board interface JAMMA/Custom (non-JAMMA)). The info on KLOV is not 100% accurate (as is the case with most information in general in any format) but in general it is correct. There is your 'list' of compatible games. :)

YMMV.

only if it's a JAMMA-standard board, which began appearing in about 1986. before that, many games had unique pinouts and some conformed to a particular manufacturer standard. Konami, Taito, Sega, and even Midway eventually developed their own pinout standards that at least some of their later games used.

of course, you can use many games with a JAMMA adapter that'll let you play them in your DD cabinet.

Gang wars

I tried to swap a Gang Wars in the DD but it didn't work, did I do something wrong?

I have a Gang wars control panel and marquee if you need one.

System 1s are interchangeable. Some of the Jamma fighters need a kick harness for the extra buttons also.

Also, since nobody mentioned it, you'll need to look for vertical vs horizontal orientation. I assume Double Dragon is horizontal (that's what MAME says anyway), so I doubt you want to tear into the cabinet and rotate the monitor to play a vertical game on it.

Double Dragon cabs are one of the easiest for monitor rotation.
