I use this monitor for testing and it died while in use. Picture & power LED went out at the same moment. I have dug around in the schematics (wish I had a high quality set that matched my version) enough to figure out that:
1) My power board is OK. Puts out 17, 25, 128 until I plug in the chasis PCB
2) My FBT is NOT putting out the 15V (which gets regulated to 5 & 12)

So, what is most likely to be the problem? Bad FBT? If so, any place to get a replacement at reasonable cost? If not, what is the problem and how do I troubleshoot?

Thanks!

I say screw the monitor, and get a RGB to VGA converter board, then you can use an old LCD monitor for your bench... (It will even let you see medium-res boards)

I had mine die a while back. Turns out it was a cooked solder joint at/near the flyback. Reflowed the solder and it worked fine after that.

I would like to hear more about this RGB to VGA converter board trick. I have an old working NEC multi-sync LCD flatscreen I bought at a yard sale a couple mos back, could I use that? It would be great if it DID also work with medium res stuff also!

Anyone have a scanned schematic for this monitor? I have one down and another just died on me. The first one has no HV and the second does (can feel it on the screen) but no video. Any tips before I open 'em up?
