Nov 28, 2023: A few days ago we ran a routine, minor upgrade on our SQL database. Much to surprise, we learned today that it prevented a number of our users from logging into our forums, or using other parts of our site. It turned out that the SQL database update took it upon itself to move it's configuration file offline. Without it, the site didn't work correctly, though it wasn't obvious since it continued to be used. The configuration file has been restored and hopefully all is better now.

Any before pics? Also I never knew they were Nazi's...learn something new every day

Great work as ever. Inspirational.

I am looking to build a couple of reproduction cabinets of this type for a Commando and Kung-Fu Master. I have a lot of the measurements but I was wonering if you could possibly help me with confirming a few measurements.

The height from the bottom to top of the cabinet at its highest (not including caster legs) and measurements shown in the attached picture.

Great work again and any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Second for the before pics. I swear it looks like you make these from scratch from how fresh the wood and everything looks. 9/10 dynamo cabs I ever see have plenty of 20+ years worth of wear and tear /mods on them.

EDIT: re-read the first post. But still your other cabs are just as flawless.
You and Phetishboy are top dog restorers.

He doesnt have any before pics because he rebuilds the cabs brand new.. Thats why they look brand new.. It looks awesome though..

The picture of the cabinet you have is a Data East dedicated cabinet.
Fizgig has created a Dynamo HS-1 cabinet.
There may be a slight difference in measurements size your looking for. I know they are all 23.75 as far as inner width. (Bezel, control Panel, Glass)

Awesome looking cab Fizgig.

Where you at on Full restoration for the year..? Is it 1 per month just about?

Wow! Very nice. I've got a Commando in the line-up to restore. I might have to move it up the list after seeing yours.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure why all of Fizgig's cabs are in the restoration showcase. I mean sure, of course your cabinet is going to look great when everything on/in it is brand new. Throw enough money at it, and you can replace everything.

I wouldn't put Fizgig and Phetishboy in the same Universe for cabinet restorations, much less the same forum. What Phetishboy does with his cabs to restore them is WAAAY different that just buying a whole bunch of new parts and artwork.

That said, these are beautiful cabinets you're putting out there, Fizgig. I wish I had the seemingly endless supply of funds you had.

Looks beautiful man. I know if I made one myself it'd look like a pile of garbage. :D Love the Rigby icon too.

Wow, really?

What about the hundreds of hours finding, scanning, restoring, making, printing and applying artwork? And restoring all the metal, plastic, glass, plexi-glass, electronics etc. I could go the route of saving the original cabinet but to me it doesn't make sense. It's just as much expense and work or more to end up with basically the same thing. Except with a brand new one it doesn't smell weird.

My goal is simple, make the games look as new as possible. I hope to have these games in a non-profit "playable" museum some day.

Phet does a lot of great stuff, but I have 2 of Phets restored games. I would categorize his games as refurbished. Is there a KLOV category for that? They look really good from about 10 feet away but not close up. At least by my standards. I'm re-restoring them. That's probably not a word, but you know what i mean :)

LOL, good idea!
NAh, I just put them under a giant piece of plastic when not in use. Dust, and especially sawdust really sucks though, it gets into every tiny crevice.

Seriously, do you have a clean room to store these in?
