I haven't had time to follow this thread but it sounds like it turned into a real nightmare.

There were more issues than originally thought, yes. I don't have the proper tools to properly diagnose the sound board, but on the whole it wasn't that bad. The sound board was the only real pain. Everything else went pretty smoothly.

In the end, I walk away with another game rescued and brought back to nice condition, a small pile of money, and plenty more experience. I'm happy with it.
