Well, they added this auction like this week! Not many people knew about it. I decided to go check it out this time...glad I did! Left with a nice Capcom Airborne pinball. :)

sa

this issue has been brought up to rob and others many times over 21 plus yrs , its great for the buyers , but it sucks for the consignors, yet he does this every yr, and every yr its a slaugtor for the sellors and party time for the buyers, but what does he care he gets a commis, thats one of 100 reasons sa is dying he does not care about anyone or anything but his buks

What were the classics? I didn't go cuz I just picked up a Berzerk (one of my grails). I havn't seen grails at these auctions in a long time. And, no Ms. Pac Man is not a grail.

Not much dude...a bunch of Ms. Pacs, Galaga, Galaxian, Roadblasters, 2 Dig Dugs....that's all I remember. Lots and lots of Jamma-junk....nice selection of pinballs.

Wah wah wah....arcade games just aren't worth much anymore, and consigners are lucky to get anything for the trash they usually bring to these auctions...that's the purpose of auctions - to liquidate crap as-is. Do you think those rows of half broken gimpy-monitor Jamma machines are worth more than the $50 or $75 they were going for? If they were, why do the consigners bother w/ Superauctions? Go sell them on Ebay or Craigslist...it's not that hard. IMO, auctions are supposed to be geared toward buyers.....as a buyer, I go for a good deal, not to pay retail prices for projects!

because most consigners don't want to deal with dorks coming over and getting all into their stuff. Plus way too many flakes on ebay and CL.

yes, things have changed a bit with prices. But those same games would have sold 50% more had that auction occured on nov 18...

wow, congrats greg on the airborne pinball. you don't see too many capcom pins pop up like that one.

any other good pinball deals??

i think alot of people were no shows due to the bad weather and all over the weekend. chris

Look - if you're an op/consigner, you have two choices.
1.) Deal with "dorks" and "flakes"....sell a few pieces at a time

2.) Get rid of all your crap in one fell swoop at the auction, for what people are willing to pay for it. Maybe you get less than you want - but that's the price you pay for not dealing with "dorks", and the buyer pays the price he'll pay for an as-is "risk."

They had an auction last month. This one was just announced like a week or so ago.....so, I don't know how auction politics work - but it seems like someone wanted to get rid of this stuff and threw together a last minute auction to do so. Hell, they're lucky anyone shows up to buy anything....lol.

Pin prices were OK, but as usual most were super dirty w/ tons of shit broken - so even with a seemingly good price, more money and work would have to go into it. Like, I think South Park was $1050 - but it needed a new DMD and all the GI was out (could be an easy fix). I think the Judge Dredd for $600-ish was a pretty good deal!

Not sure if the other auction was super auctions or the other guys.. They used to do double auctions when SA was woring to kill off the competition..

There are dozens of reasons why people take games to auction. but the one thing when you call SA could tell the sellers, that their games are going to sell for nothing so close to x-mas. They know it does not work.

The problem is some of the sellers don't know. They might be new to the game. But as you said, maybe it was someone who did not care. If they did care, then they probably learned their lesson..
