Color code for Q*bert yellow?

Its glossy but I wouldnt say its high gloss. See the pics I posted above, thats sherman williams industrial safety yellow.

Oh man! If you wouldn't mind doing that I'd REALLY appreciate it.

I haven't found it yet. I did look though. Maybe go back to Sherwin Williams (maybe another franchise?)... Tell them you want yellow mixed from your side art or your CPO in all purpose enamel "satin". They should have a base to mix from. In fact, there was a yellow in the book that was almost 100% exact!

Ok, problem solved.
I went to an ACE hardware in CT (so I can get oil paint) and was told they could not color match something that "vibrant" as the yellow on the side art.
I, of course, asked why? He said the machine won't pick up the color on something that "vibrant" and directed me to the color swatch wall and said these were the best he could do. So I looked and low & behold I found a match...ironically enough named "Yellow". the paint was Benjamin Moore and was "satin" base.
So, I'll be appyling it this weekend and if anyone is interested I'll post how it turned out.

Yep, I've been advocating picking up paint swatches for years. If the paint store can't color match something you bring in, the next best thing is for you to bring something home to match to the cab. Bring home several swatches in the same color family, put them against the cab, pick the closest match, go back and have them mix it up. Whenever people ask for "paint codes" I always just shake my head in disbelief. No offense to you Eric, it's just that everybody seems to want to get the "internet answer" vs. physically doing something for themselves. Kudos to you for actually doing it the right way. (Even if you did ask for a code first). Ironically, I just ran across my Q-bert yellow paint (with color code on the lid) this past Sunday. Hahahahahaha

HA! Thanks Phet.
It's a little difficult around here with the weird laws of what you can and can't get with oil paint. The problem was with my cab it was converted and painted black so I didn't have anything to color match to until someone let me know the side art yellow was/ is supposed to be the same color.

That's right. But you now have the side art, which works just as well.

BTB, here is a comparison shot of the original Q*bert yellow and the original side art vs. my custom-matched paint and AS's repro sideart:

Pretty spot-on on both counts (Except for the blue in the pyramid blocks of the repro art).

Got any left? My new cab could use a coat of yellow.

I spend a couple of hours in and out of Sherwin Williams on Saturday. I got the 4 Joust colors, but it wasn't simple or quick.

I had chipped out about 1"x1" top layer of ply with paint on it, perfect sample to match I thought. Guy on the phone said great, etc.. I go in to get quarts of oil based All Purpose Enamel, and they tell me that the brown and orange should be no problem, but the pale yellow (they called it green) and orange would be hard to match due to the bases they had. The scanner thing didn't really get it, so they had to eyeball it, dry a sample, etc. They ended up finding a paint swatch to see what looked closest to the chip of wood I brought in...

In the end, I got the paint, and I think they'll be really close, much closer than any rattle cans I could find.

Please update with how it turns out. I will be painting my Qbert cabinet this summer I hope. It had contact cement and laminate over the sides, so while I can probably get a clean spot to match the yellow, the finish overall is f'd.

This worked really good for me.
