Hey Guys,
I'm in the middle of my Q*bert restoration and by this weekend I'll need to paint.
I did a search and couldn't find and color code info...i found mentions of it but no code :(

I'll be doing it in oil from Sherwin Williams so if anyone would be kind enough to hook me up with the color code or point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

BTW
I'm still looking for the following for the restoration:

A glass bezel (a plexi repro would also work).
A coin door w/ raised Gottleib (or Q*bert) panel
Wiring harness
Power transformer assembly
Joystick
side art
Control panel (doesn't need to have a good overlay just need to be intact w/ studs)
Coin Box
Sound PCB
Main PCB

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, ERIC

Thanks Darren,
I've seen those but I was hoping someone had a color code for Sherwin Williams or something similar. Reason being I've heard color codes from HD or Lowes don't exactly transfer properly to Sherwin Williams. Here in MA (or over the boarder in CT) you can't get oild based tinted colors at HD or Lowes.

Thanks,
ERIC

You don't have the side art yet? Buy it and have the yellow color matched. That will be the easiest way.

No, not yet.
Sounds like a plan...the gloss of the sideart won't affect the color sampling, huh?

I always though it would for some reason...

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.

Hey Eric, did you ever decide on the paint or are you waiting for the sideart?

Just got the side art.
I'm probably going to go this weekend to get it color matched at Sherwin Williams. I still have a little more bondo work to do, then primer.

Why? What's up?

I'm going to be restoring one too, and wanted to see where you netted out on where you went and what you got.

Sure,
Like I said. I'll probably go to Sherwin Williams to get the color match this weekend.
I'm doing it in oil and In MA you can't get tinted oil paint and in CT (I live on the MA/CT boarder) you can but only in pint cans and from Sherwin Williams...Home Depot won't carry it even in CT...because they suck.
I'll post the color code if you like.

Hmmm, time to find out what the policy is here in NY and NJ. Definitely post back to this thread when you get it.

Ok, so I got the side art...took it to Sherwin Williams and they tell me "we can't do a match to that, yellow is the toughest color to match".

Huh?

I really wanted to do oil, but it's looking less and less likely...

Anyone have any suggestions?

That's crazy because they were able to mix my QB Yellow!!! Did you tell them "All Purpose Enamel"? Have a Pratt and Lambert dealer near by?
