collectors, Atari 7800 Price: $350.00

Total ripoff. Not at all rare. I think I have about 7 of them and I don't even collect 7800.

I actually just sold an Odyssesy 2 mint in box for $110.00 on eBay. Thought I might get $40 or so for it. You sometimes never know.

my response....

You must be bored. Find a new hobby. You just wasted 10 minutes of your life posting this and the Nintendo listing when you could have been doing something more constructive like watching paint dry.

$20 says you will not get your asking price on either one by this time next year.

Wait. Are you "7800" Mitch?? Did I borrow your RGB 7800 a couple of months ago? Man, small world...

Sorry, I'm continuing the threadjack....

Can someone point me to info about 7800's with RGB interfaces? Is this something someone is selling? Is it just for the PAL versions (I did a quick search, but didn't succeed).

Thanks

Yes, it is only used on PAL 7800s sold in France. Chris can probably give you a more technical explanation of the circuit but basically there's an extra cirucit board in there that takes the composite signal and extracts the RGB +sync info.

Heh... this thread put the bug in my ear yesterday and my son and I are playing Scrapyard Dog on our 7800 right now. :D First time connecting the Atari systems to our flat panel LCD... they look great! :)

Thanks OP for posting this thread. :beerchug: Forgot how much fun Food Fight, Jr. Pac-Man, and Robotron are on the 7800.

Hopefully you are using the 7800 joypads or a third party joystick to play those games. Those original 7800 joysticks are painful on the hands!

I saw a 7800 boxed at a Goodwill Computer Works for $19.99 the other day. You can find them on eBay for $20+ also, depending on what games come with them.
