I picked up a Westinghouse WB-102-k6-D and I cant seem to find any info on the net. I did a google search of this and not comming up with this exact model #. Anyone know where to look. Owner says it will vend cans but im begining to believe that was a lie to get it sold. I got a hell of a deal on it and its great shape so Im not to upset about it. If anyone has a website to check out please let me know. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that this is a select-o-matic 6 selection style. I would try it out with cans but I need to figure out what is wrong with the coin mech first cause its not working at the moment.

I got ahold of a someone in here in Texas who restores soda mahines and he did verify that this model will do cans as well. Now all i have to do is find out why this coinco changer keeps rejecting all coins. Either that or im going to have to find out if a selct-o-matic can be put on free vend.

If its a Selectomatic, with the dial, that should be a WC #. The WB is usually a button machine.

I believe to make them vend cans, there are spacers that need to be fabricated for each of the vend columns.. As Ken mentioned, post it over at Soda Machines.. There are a few Westinghouse guys there that can get you going in the right direction..

I thought the same thing but it still has the original tag on the side of the machine and also another one on the inside down by the compressor. Both tags label it as a WB and not a WC. Once I get the coin mech working im just going to load in some cans and see what happens. Like I said I did have a restorer tell me it would but ill have to check it out myself.

The machine may not accept coins if there is no products in the slot. I don't know much about westinghouses, but I believe there is a product switch in each column that tells the coin mech if product is available. I have a WB-66 that I never figured out the vending setup on, but there are switches in each column to see if product is there. If its set up for bottles, try putting a few in each column then try to use the coin mech.

That is another thing im going to check. Been trying to read up on machines as much as possible and I think your right. There are some sensors in there that lets the coin mech know its empty. I read somewhere else too that it may also be because there are no nickles the the coin slots either. It says to fill it up about half way so that there will be change to dispence if needed. Thank you for the advise tho....helps me with things to look for.

If the coin tubes are empty, it will still operate, but on exact change only. If the coins are going right through the coin mech and out into the change slot, its most likely either the product switches or a faulty coin mech.

I tried to get a pic of the tag to show that it has it marked as a WB and not a WC but that was almost impossible with my cell phone.

Looks nice and clean. Has that been painted? Looks like the trim around the coin entry and cap catcher is painted. Should be polished.. Other than that, as long as the sides are good looking, give it a good compound and wax job and get it running. Does it cool?

The front door has a few dings and the sides have a few scratches but thats about it. Id say its nice enough for me to put in the house and not be ashamed of it at all. We plugged it in when I picked it up and within just a few minutes you could feel that it was cooling down. I did find out for sure that it will dispence cans. I was able to clean up the instructions on the inside of the door and it even shows how to adjust the gates for 12oz cans. Plan on finishing up the cleanup this weekend and firing her up.

Can you recomend a good compound to really make it shine. I wiped it down allready but would really like it to shine.

Good news about vending cans. It probably has a similar rack system as the westy I have. Probably have to remove a screw and turn a wheel or something? I don't remember exactly..

I was into car detailing for awhile, so I take my high speed buffer and use a light compound by 3m.. I'm out of town, but I'll check the name when I get home. If you are going to do by hand, you can use a heavy duty compound. Then follow up with a good wax.. If you are going to use it outside, use a wax with teflon, otherwise any wax will work well to give it a nice shine..

You end up having to take out a screw and adjust an arm and thats it to get it to vend cans. Looks very easy to do.

I wasnt sure on the compound or wax. Didnt know if I needed something special or not. Its actually not to bad right now but with a good wax it will make it even better. Thanks for all the help and advice. This coke machine stuff is a little new to me but i love it.
