How do you coin up your games?

I have all my games set to .984 token play. I also have a dollar bill changer that gives out tokens at a push of the button or you can change a dollar for 4 tokens. Makes the whole arcade experience "real"

if they can be set to free play they are, if they come with a free play button i use it unless its retarded (i just picked up a double dragon for $50 and they removed the coin slot and put a household light switch.) id rather flick a microswitch than add a fp button

I have all of my games set for quarters. Come on man, it IS an arcade!

I think it takes away from the feel of a classic game if you can just walk up to it and push start. Besides it's fun to act like an OP every once in a while and collect the cash. Makes for an easy way to save money too.

That's my take on things as well. The feel of the coin drop along with reaching for that player start button just feels....great. Like I'm about to leave the stressful world I'm in now and just lose myself in the world of the game I'm about to play.

I like to use quarters for my Frogger, theres something about it that is better than reaching in and pressing the credit button on the inside.

i actually use various methods...

wizard of wor is on freeplay. mario i flick the coin switch, cause the mechs are missing pieces and don't work. the rest i use quarters.

A couple of my games are set to free play. One has a button on the front for credits. Black Knight however takes quarters. It has a battery pack and remembers the credits when it's powered off so I use it as a piggy bank.

For those of you that remember Black Knight, it was set for .50 in it's day at the arcade. I poured tons of change in that thing when I was a lad. It has a battery pack and remembers the credits when it's powered off so I use it as a piggy bank. My wife takes my change if I leave it on the nightstand. That'll fix her, just hope she don't find out! Don't tell her, ok?

Most of mine are on free play but some do not have that option. For those I have wired up smaller buttons on the front for coin up purposes. When possible, I try and use the hole that is invariably already drilled through the cab from the old security bar that was run across the coin door at some point in its former life on route. Trying for minimal damage. I prefer this over having people (especially kids) fishing around inside the coin doors to add credits.

A few of mine are on Freeplay, several others I flip the coin mech switch, and my Phoenix has a small red button on the coin door.

If any of y'all like the idea of wanting a credit-up button but don't want to drill any holes in your games, may I... Suggest my wonderful product? :D

It's a super-thin button that sticks onto the front of your coin door like a sticker, and then you run the "tail" around to the backside and wire it up. Sure I'm biased, but they just might be the best things ever.
