Any changed their old style wedge bulbs to LED's?

Is their and LED equivalent?

Seems the pin ball dudes are all doing this....

I'm sure it would reduce heat and load on the old PS in our arcade games....

Wedge bulbs are 555 bulbs, generally speaking. I know there are other wedge bulbs, but using 555 equivalents have worked just fine for me. Yes I changed my coin door lights to LED on all my games.

check the bulbs already there, 555s are 5 volt bulbs and 161 bulbs are 12v bulbs. ive made the mistake a couple fo times of not check and metling 5 volt leds putting them in a 12 volt coin door.

I did this as well to all of my games, a while ago. I used frosted reds from pinballbulbs.com (and oranges in my games with orange reject buttons). I love the red glow when you open the coin door. And I'll never have to change them again.

They are indistinguishable from incandescents when put side by side, from the outside of the cab.

555's are 5v. Make sure you don't need a 12v.

You should use frosteds instead:

161's are 14V automotive bulbs. I'm sure there are LED versions, but I don't think they carry them. What game is this for?

Note there are plenty of other suppliers, and they'll all be fine. Just be aware you don't need 'super stupid bright' ones for coin door use. Any will do.

Well basically the game I have listed below is what I'm looking to replace them in... :)

Atari games will all use one of the two styles on pinballbulbs.com (depending if your doors are wedge or push+ twist), but I got all of mine from there for my Atari cabs. I just bought an assortment of all colors ans styles, as I've used them in numerous places.

I'm pretty sure any Pac-derivative games will all be 161/automotive 14V bulbs. You'll need to check one of the other suppliers (maybe comet?) for those, or ebay.

Correct , I put an 5v led in one and walked away only to find it melted in about 15minures.

Yeah, I've done the same. They will often also melt nearby plastic inserts, etc.

You definitely always want to check/know the voltage when replacing any bulbs, as machines often have the wrong bulbs installed in them to begin with. Never trust where they came from.

if you order from comet pinball, order the 25 packs and save some cash seeing how every game uses 2 anyway.
