Coin Door Switch

Your picture is of a Coin Controls coin switch. They were originally blue in color, but the latest versions are black in color. Sometimes they are called the "Busy Bee" switch because they were made in England by a company called Busy Bee.

Hey K,

My buddy said these switches miss credits.

Noticed you posted about that a while back. (n1.)

Was wondering if there is a better, compatible replacement switch for the Busy Bee coin switch?

"The "Busy Bee" coin switches use ordinary silver internal contact points. This causes erratic credits/missed credits due to poor contacts. The internal switch contacts should have been gold flashed for reliability."

The black colored ones might have been improved internally.

I typically soak the Busy Bee switches in contact cleaner overnight then dry them out over several days. That seems to make a big difference in reliability.

I need a couple of coin switches, myself. I need one for my Spy Hunter and for my Taxi pinball. As far as I can tell, the same switch will work for both. The ones I need have the screw holes in the top right and bottom left. Even though the wires aren't straight, I'm thinking I can bend them to work. These seem hard to find. The bottom left screw hole looks a bit different than the top right, so I'm a bit concerned about that. Which of these would you recommend, Ken?
