i am about 98% complete with my 60 in 1 jamma cocktail arcade. I am not sure how to connect a coin counter to the jamma PCB. I am currently using two power supplies. One supplies 5 volts to the PCB and the other supplies 12 volts to power the control panel back lights and the coin slot lights. Should I use a 12v coin counter and use the 12v power supply that is not connected to the PCB or do i use a 5volt coin counter and connect it to the 5 volt power supply used for the PCB. I know on the 60 in 1 I would use the number 8 location on the part side of the jamma connector. I have read about the need for a diode ? Does the PCB just close a switch or does it send power to the coin counter. Would I connect a ground to one lead of the coin counter and terminal 8 to the other lead ?
Thanks for the help, i don't want to experiment and short out my board.

I found a diagram of a coin meter. is this how i should connect it ? I would buy a 5 volt meter with a diode built in and use the same 5 volt power that is supplying the PCB.
