A close tie would be the uber rare Eliminator 4-player cocktail:

@DLP raves about this one. Someone brought it to CAX and he said it was super fun to play.
Eliminator is way fun with 2 players. I can't imagine how it would be with 4!

I don't like Joust so I'd never own one but I actually like the cabinet design a lot. It's cool looking and can be pushed against a wall.On the avoid list - I'd tell you to avoid the Joust cocktail - that's such a weird one, side by side but a table...
Can't really go wrong with any of those games as cocktail cabinets, they all work well as conckrtail cabs . I have played all those on cocktail cabinets and enjoyed them all. Played a lor of Gallaga and Centipede, probably because those machines were everywhere. I thinkFrogger cocktails were kind of big at Pizza Hut, A lot of the huts use to have alcoves near the entrances where they placed the arcade cabinets. Yeah 3 great games though.I have a modest game room with two pinballs, some slot machines, and a Ms PacMan and a Donkey Kong Jr. I'm looking to add some more games and am watching for a Galaga, Frogger, or Centipede. I'm in a small market so you never know what's going to pop up available for sale.
I'd like to get a cocktail game. Part of it is nostalgia since I remember going to bars and playing cocktail games and part is more pragmatic; I could use a cocktail table to put drinks and snacks on while people sat and played them. I'm looking for advice on which commonly available games are not too compromised in game play plus work well as a cocktail table. Conversely, which games are terribly compromised on game play and/or would be a disaster if a drink was spilled on them?

I don't think I ever played Joust on a cocktail. After looking at it that is kind of an odd setup. Probably not that much more dificult than the upright though. Interesting Cocktail Cabinet, a lot rarer than Frogger, Centipede, or Gallaga.Booooo
The Joust Cocktail is very fun to play.. and yes.. I'm biased.. I have one..
I've had a Millipede cocktail with the Braze mutipede kit in it for 16-17 years and still love it. In fact, I just played it on Tuesday. I really only play Centipede on it, but it's nice to know I can switch to Millipede if I want to. I'm planning on doing some downsizing so I may be persuaded to sell mine soon.

Been doing a little research on the VS, system, those Red Tents are pretty rare. I would hold on to that onr for sure. They even have their own registryIve got a few Midway cocktails and the games are just all timers. That two player PacMan on Bit Kit is worth having.
And My Nintendo Red Tent is great, but i dont want anyone putting drinks on it the way you can a glass top table.
Warlords is the one i want and have not found.
Id love a Joust.
But Track & Field and Atari Football are still favorites if you are playing with friends.
Yeah. I can't think of any MCR games that are better in the cocktail format. The uprights are all so nice. Warlords is about the only other cocktail I'd be interested in picking up if I got the chance. I've got too many as is.I'd avoid midway MCR cocktails, I just prefer the uprights. Right now I only have 4 cocktails, pac-man, galaxian, omega race, and warlords. No plans to add or subtract any in the list.
We have a Qbert upright and my wife still expresses a desire every now and then to get one of these and put it in our living room.I love my Q*Bert cocktail. The artwork is killer along with the tiny control panels.
