Hey guys I have a cocktail tapper and she went down on me. Just in the middle of playing the game stopped. The monitor is fine. What i got on the multimeter was 12.5 and 6.4, I tried to adjust the 5v, but seems as though there is no change in the voltage. My best educated guess is that the power supply is shot. So two questions, first do you guys know if I can use are regular switching power supply or do I have to get one of those mcr adapter type things for power supply. And second do you guys think this fried my board?

I can't help on the PS, but on fried boards: You won't know until you get a good supply in there and running. Unfortunately, while 6.4 isn't good, and might have damaged components, you have no idea what voltage it may have been on a transient basis in between being 5v and being 6.4v.

Good luck!

what type of board repair do you perform? WHat are your general rates? I have plenty of boards that I could have worked on, thanks

I'm sorry, I didn't phrase that quite right: I didn't mean to imply that I worked on boards (I only fix my own at the moment). I was just meaning that I could give advice on fried boards: You won't know until you get the PS under control because you don't know what happened while the PS was breaking itself.
