Cocktail Space Duel Arcade Machine

I just turned it on, again, for the first time in months. The monitor came on within 10 seconds. The dot is still near the middle. After starting the game, I noticed that tapping the cabinet, lightly, caused random artifacts to momentarily show up on the screen. What is that from?

Is there a way to easily unstick a button?

I don't have a key for the door. Do I need to get a universal one, so I can make those adjustments you guys mentioned with the knobs?

The best thing is to buy a $15 set of lock picks on ebay, watch a 10-minute youtube video about lockpicking, and pick the door lock. That will get you in without needing to drill or destroy anything. Here:

Intermittent or flaky behavior is caused by dirty connections, and/or cracked solder joints on the monitor board headers, which are all but guaranteed to be cracked in your case, as all original cabs have this issue. But if you fix them before the monitor nukes itself, you can save yourself a more expensive and complicated repair.

Personally I would not power the game on, or bang the sides of it, or wiggle wires with it in that condition, as you are very close to having a non-working monitor.

If you want to do the best things for the game, pick the lock, get inside, pull the monitor boards, reflow the header joints with fresh solder, and then apply DeOxit to all connectors in the entire cabinet. Get a can here:

Otherwise, the more you mess with this game, the more you risk taking two steps backwards, and ending up with it in less working condition than it is now.

As soon as that monitor stops working, then you're looking at a sub-$1000 game.
If you don't own a soldering iron and are skilled at using it, then sell the game now.
