Hi I have a cocktail pacman. I recently put a new monitor chassis in it and now the monitor works great. But when I go to plug the game board in it will blow the 3rd fuse in the link of of four furthest to the back. So I know its a game board problem I replaced one of the main diodes on the board and it still blows it. So im not sure what would cause it to short not grounded good enough or something. But I wondered if someone might of experienced the same problem. Any input or help would be appreciated.

One thing to check, especially if the harness has been replaced, is to ensure the harness is lining up with the fingers of the board. I have run into this many times, where the harness no longer has the key, and the female pins get shorted out by the board, and pop goes the fuse.

Its lined up good from what I can see I cleaned the connectors to and its never been replaced. Would anything on the gameboard cause it to blow because it only blows when I plug the board in. Thanks

The fact that the connector has never been replaced is not necessarily a good thing.

A terminal inside could be touching the one next to it. Take it off and inspect inside with a flashlight.

My Ms Pac did not have this issue, so I cannot comment any further, but if it does not blow when the board is not plugged in, but the machine is turned on, then you are right, its a board issue.

The fuse holders on these machines can cause all kinds of issues and if your holders have the brass looking tabs, you want to replace them. I doubt a fuse holder would cause this issue but you should still update them if you have the gold tabs style.

Yea I''ll check it out and see but yea it only blows once the board is plugged in I can turn it on fine with out the board plugged in and it wont blow I'll check all the connectors and look at it real good. thanks
