Howdy!

I'm contemplating buying / building a cocktail cab for my board collection. This will not be a mame-box but a proper jamma cab with a 19-inch monitor.

First, there's arcade depot, who sells kits. With only the basic options( stained, sealed, glass, etc ) it comes to about $500-600 including shipping. Their documentation on the website seems somewhat flimsy, especially on mounting the control panels..

Second, there's arcadeshop who sells pre-assembled cabs but charges about $300 for shipping, bringing the total closer to $700 with similar options. No idea about control panel mounting..

Last but not least, there's a vendor on ebay ( 'mamemaker' ), selling pre-assembled cabs ( nice one's at that ) including all the hardware for about $750 including shipping. They also sell shrunk down full-size cabs, which is interesting..

I'm leaning more towards either arcadeshop or mame-maker, considering they're pre-assembled. The latter includes control panels, speakers and hinges, which makes it all sound really easy.

Has anyone ever bought from either arcade depot or mame maker? What was your experience? Good quality / support?

Thanks!

Buy used. Building is hard! They're not bad to find. Post on the wanted forum for a gutted cocktail and you should be able to find one in your state.

Hi All!

The thing about buying used is that most are in pretty bad shape and generally need a lot of work. Buying a pre-assembled one from either ArcadeShop, MikesArcade or on Ebay takes care of most of that.

Either way, thanks for the replies. Has anyone ever bought a cab / cocktail from ArcadeShop btw? What's the quality like?
