I keep seeing cocktail arcades for $1500.00 and up. Do they actually sell for that price?
I also notice they look kinda cheap. Most of them don't have the smoked plexi over the monitor and I can see the monitor and bezel, and the cabinet and coin doors look cheap..etc.

No. They're just cheap Chinese garbage with LCDs, inkjet art, and 60-in-1 pcbs that won't be worth that in a million years.

In TEXAS the market for 60/1 cocktails stretches from 1000-2000. The economy is "better" here. But I'm curious what he is particularly interested in, and where he's looking.

Some similarly priced games on E-bay have sold recently but that is not true most of the time. Its usually people that have never owned a game and know nothing about them that will pay that much. They are looking for something that is easy to use and has mostly new parts (or is brand new) and some of them are will to pay through the nose for it.

I am talking about the 60-1 cocktails. I see them on Craigslist and eBay. There was one 60-1 for $6000 that was painted with the longhorns logo.

There's a guy in central Texas who "sells" Mame cabs for like $10-15,000. He thinks he's the worlds smartest Mame builder. And IMO they are ugly and could be more thought out. At least he builds from scratch, not gutting out a real machine.

I just sold this one two days ago.

Got the full asking price, but that included the sales tax that comes out of that price as well as credit card fees since they paid with a card.

That looks clean. Why don't you use the smoked plexi over the monitor to hide the monitor and bezel? To me that just makes it look that much better, especially when it's turned off.

do they get to return it when they try to play gunsmoke?

not much you can do to make an LCD look better

I turned off all the games that do not play correctly on the 4 ways sticks and told them about the other games and how they could change the controls if they really wanted to play the other games. So not an issue for a well informed buyer.

Personally I think the smoke plexi is only a plus for burned monitors. It don't bother me one way or another when it comes to multicades. User preference I guess
