Hello, I recently acquired this Slam Dunk game.
Initially it seemed to work, but the basket hoop didn't move, so long story short, I was able to replace the missing Gear Head Motor for the belt attached to the basket. Although the basket now moves up and down I wasn't sure if I had orderd the correct motor, nonetheless, it works fine.
The current issue I have is the Prize Dispenser.
Sequence:
-Power Up
-Coin Added
At this time the kid can toggle the LED lights to select the rod of the potential prize.
-Count down to start
-Game is played
-Score to win the prize is achieved
-Game counter stops
-Basket lowers back to start position
-No lights light up or "Winner" phrase is not heard
No prize is dispensed, no rods move.
The game will not accept any more coins for further play until game is powered off and on again.
*If I lose the game, the phrase "game over" will sound and it will indeed let me add more coins for another round of play.
Extra info:
-I have pressed the "Test" switch inside the unit, and all rods start to spiral one at a time after the switch sensor at the tip of each rod is pressed, then the next rod starts, etc.
-I have also "reset" the prize rods, by holding down the "Prize" selection button, and successfully hearing 3 horn sounds.
-I am missing a couple LED lights and holders, these LED lights are part of the prize selection lights. Could this be the root of my problem? Does a missing bulb prevent the unit from dispensing a prize?
-I am not sure what those bulbs and holders are called, so I can search for them on ebay or so...
-I have not messed with the DIP switches on the board, my understanding is they are mainly used for easy, hard, and time modes.
-The coin acceptor was no t working either, but after fiddling with it I noticed some stuck rusty coins inside, after removing them, it started accepting coins agin.
I've attached several photos.
Thank you!
