CNC cabs coming soon to Eastern PA!

Attached is the curve of my Robotron cabinet along with the slant of a Joust cabinet, so AFAIK it isn't just a Joust cabinet.

williams would stick games in any cabinet they had around too. My joust is in a robotron cab, the factory painted right over the robotron paint job.

Curious if this will be fixed when your offerings come to town. The cabinet is awesome even if not changed, but would love it if a solution was found:

There is an error in this cabinet, the game sides, on the pedestal half. The back of the sides, right by the back door, the angle cut is wrong. It's supposed to be cut at 9 degrees, but there isn't such a thing as a 9 degree V router bit, it has to be custom made and very expensive, you have to buy at least 6! This is only noticable from directly behind the game, the cabinet side profile is 100% correct.

I've had a machine shop cut an existing bit down for me to get the shape I wanted before. I think it cost me about 60 or 70 dollars for the bit and shop time. Ask around and somebody can do it for you. Beautiful cabinet, though!

thanks! I'll have to check into having a bit cut down, hadn't thought of that. I can probably go with a 1/4 straight bit, 9 degrees isn't alot.

there's really no fix for the angle on MH. i have a possible solution to make it right, but i would have to do the cab in Birch, it would chip the shit out of melamine lol it would be a custom jig with a straight bit and a roller bearing, done by hand. The other solution is a 5 axis CNC and those cost huge money.

Average game restore? Depend on the game.. and what you have already in parts. MH would be expensive.. whereas something like Galaga would be reasonable. Galaga cab = 350.00 art package 90.00 Marquee and new bezel 100.00 Total 540 for a cab that's mint and just needs your existing game guts.

I take it the idea of cutting down the bit wasn't feasible?

Wasn't practical, it takes some special stuff to machine solid carbide. Custom making the bits could be done, but I'd have to sell 5 major havocs just to pay for the bits.
