Closest acquisition?

Galaga (Galaxaga actually) and Elevator Action... bought from a guy 8 doors down. He has a minty Ms. Pac and just sold a converted Food Fight (Arkanoid) and is trying to sell a converted Asteroids Deluxe (some JAMMA game that start with a K).

I have scored three games local in the past three years. My ice cold beer was about 15 minutes away. A pacman which was 10 minutes away and a frenzy which was also 10 minutes away. I got some screaming good deals on all three of these machines too. Seems like the farther I travel for a game the more I end up paying for them.

2 blocks from my house, guy listed a SF II, Ameridarts and 8-Ball Action cause the Wife wanted them out of the house. He even delivered... :)

HS1 Dynamo

It was an early 19" dynamo HS1 with the non-corner cut cab. The CP has these funny inserts. It has a busted monitor but a single slot MVS and a stack of carts.

This was all 1/4 a mile away from my house. Basically is was across the street from the nearest McDonalds.... LOL

Sky Shark in a converted Bagman cab less than half a mile away.

I just picked up an Omega Race last night that was about 2 miles away.

Cruis'n USA and Beat the Champ both for $100 and only 3 miles away. A "close" second would be my Point Blank for $50 5 miles away.

Playchoice 10 Dual Monitor cab. FREE. 8 miles away.

PC-10 Countertop. 45 mins to my East.

Nintendo Vs Red Tent. 45 mins to my West.

Nintendo Dual System Upright. 30 mins due South.

Dragons Lair - Found on CraigsList. Guy lived about 1.5 hours away. Completely restored with limited edition disc and converter board to play Space Ace. He even let me make payments.

I have to ammend my entry. Just picked up a Ridge Racer 14 miles from my house. Monitor is not working. Flyback is cracked. Paid $75.00.

Tempest ... one block away. Had my garage door open, lady driving by stops and asks me if I buy 'games'. Follow her to the next block and there's a Tempest in the basement.

Vs super mario brothers.............6 houses down, they were moving and saw all my project games in the garage and said i could have it free.

Wow, sounds like leaving games in your garage with the door open is a good idea!!!!!!

Sure does. This is like the fourth story I've heard of people getting hooked up because others saw their games!

Did the SMB work? Or does it 'need a fuse'? :D

Bah. Across the street! When I started grad school @ UCSB & moved in to Isla Vista in my ratty 3rd story apartment, I could see over the fence into the frat house across the street.

In the yard were 3 games, exposed to the elements for who knows how long.

Took the entire Tempest (not working, got it fixed later), took the PCB (& maybe the harness?) from the Rush 'n' Attack, & took the control panels from the Atari Xs & Os Football "cocktail." Score!

Frogger cocktail 4 doors down the street for free. Neighbor finally got tired of it and asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes.
